The Ladybower Reservoir has two plugholes that interested me (bottom right). Imagine getting sucked into that in full flood! They are 24m across and the drop is 20m down to the tunnel that rejoins the Derwent River. Technically known as shaft spillways, they are used to regulate water levels and create hydro-electricity.
